JOYCE NORONHA
Joyce began her work with international students approximately 25 years ago, initially working 10 years at the Australian National University (ANU). After ANU, Joyce joined IDP Education Australia, an international education organization in Australia, and held various positions including that of Manager Network Operations and New Markets. She later established and managed the first IDP office in North America from 1994-1997. During the period with IDP in the USA, Joyce also had responsibility for managing IDP's presence in Latin America and Europe (prior to the set up of IDP offices in those regions). From 1997-2000 Joyce set up and managed the first Canadian Education Centre in Australia on behalf of the Canadian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade (DFAIT). Joyce has written market reports and papers on international education and presented at major conferences in Australia and Canada. For the thesis component of her Master's degree, Joyce wrote on the role of the Australian Government (the Australian Government's international education organization) and IDP Education Australia in the promotion of Australian education abroad. Besides her professional life which includes Doctoral studies and research on `Global Trends in Transnational Education', Joyce is involved in a number of social justice projects. In recent years, Joyce has been splitting her time between the US and Australia
Having been an international student on three continents and lived in five countries around the world, Joyce understands the need to be globally connected and socially aware. With student debt being at its highest level in years, Joyce believes more has to be done so that students from all socio economic backgrounds have a chance to study abroad as part of their undergraduate studies. It is this thinking that has driven Joyce to work tirelessly to ensure that students from all socio economic backgrounds have the opportunity to undertake a semester abroad or year abroad. Given that universities in Australia and New Zealand offer high quality programs and services (all universities are accredited by government), particularly in the area of campus orientation, on arrival services and on-going support for students, Joyce has created the My Study Australia website for the Australian Education Connection (AEC) program. The AEC provides students an individualized service whilst using modern technologies and the internet to deliver direct enrollment study options (see prices) backed with free student services. Students now have an opportunity to go to Australia and New Zealand at direct enrollment tuition fees for semester abroad, year abroad, full degree, transfer and internship programs. |
